So....I rented some points to some folks a few months back. The transaction went SOMEWHAT smoothly and now they have their reservation information (including a copy of the letter from DVC).

I have since tried to get in touch with them to make sure that they have all the information they need, that they have no questions, no issues, etc....

I have received ZERO response from either of the people who I rented these points to (husband and wife). Now, I'm not concerned that anything is going to go awry, I'm just curious as to if anyone else has had this "problem", and if so, what did you do? I just find it a little rude....

Thanks in advance!

First question to you.....did they pay yet, 100%? If there has been no payment and they have not complied with your contract I would consider cancelling the reservation but only after a messae is left with a deadline of when you want to hear from them. My first experience with renting went poorly......booked a week for a family and never got paid. Called and left a message upon message to find out what was going on. I ended up cancelling the reservation.........rented to another nice family and decided to take the family down ourselves.

There are a lot of internet users who only log on when they have something special that needs to be done. They only check their email every month (or less). I can't go 2 minutes without checking mine!

It's also possible that your emails may have gone into their junk/spam/bulk folder. There are many many people who don't know to check there for emails.

Or, they could just have nothing to say :p

My policy regarding e-mail communications (lack of) is to pick up the phone and call.

Other problems with e-mail not mentioned by previous posters: What if they changed their e-mail address? In the case of people with multiple accounts (I have several), they may check their main account frequently and other accounts less often. One of mine I check once a month.

If you can, call.

if they paid 100% then don't bother them. If they need you they will call.
I delt with a nice lady in Pittsburgh and most of our time was on the phone and never had any problems. When her trip was over she sent me an e-mail saying how nice the BWV was and would do it again.:goodvibes

Yes, there's no money left that is owed. They paid right away, which is good.

Well, I had been in contact with them (on THEIR end) DAILY, sometimes multiple times a day, whether it was by phone or email.

I can see the junk mail file thing to a point. I have the wife's home email and the husbands work email, and had been getting emails from BOTH of them, like I said.....many times a day.

Bottom line, it's common courtesy.

If they have paid up already, and they want the confirmation, they will contact you. So you are done with the transaction at this point.
