If I have say 150 Points at YBC and then purchase another 150 points at SS can I combine those points and use them at one resort?

In effect can I make YBC my home resort with 300 points?

no.

you can bank and borrow and do this - borrow from next year at BCV and bank at SSR.

the first year stay at BCV, then next year stay at SSR.

or you can get the amount of days you need using BCV first, then get the others at SSR - at the 7th month time you can change SSR to BCV if availability.

Just posting to agree with spiceycat.

You will have the 11 month window at the BCV for 150 points worth of reservations. As spicey says, you can bank and borrow those points if you need more than 150 in any one use year. You can't use your SSR points at BCV until the 7 month window opens.

Best wishes -

Yes. At the seven month mark, "points is points," and you can combine the points to use anywhere you want.

Uh...no. Nice try, but no. You will have the 11 month window only for the number of points you have available at THAT resort, not your combined point total.

Darn there goes my thought of splitting my purchase across a re-sell and SS to get say BCV WLV as my home resort. Looks like I'm going to have to go to SS and hope to occasionally book rooms at other resorts in the 7 month window.

If you want BCV or VWL as your home resort, why don't you buy one of those resorts instead of purchasing SSR? I guess I don't understand why you say you HAVE to go to SSR. Is there some reason why you must buy SSR and cannot purchase something else?

Lisa's point is very well taken.

SSR at $83.30 is a great deal. But let's say, with closing costs and everything, you bought another resort for $10 more per point. On a 300 point contract, that's $3,000. Over the life of the contract, that's nothing. You are going to pay more than $3,000 in DUES alone in the first two years!

Here's a thread you might read. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=778634

It starts with a discussion of home resort, including some points on whether home resort means anything at all to you. If home resort IS important -- and if you can take advantage of it -- then buy where you want to stay.

Hopefully, the thread will be helpful.
