Newbie here. First trip to US/IOA coming up in Feb. I currently have an off-site condo booked, but due to some unforeseen circumstances regarding driving to FL from LA, I am looking to change our trip, fly over and stay on-site. For about $600 more, I can stay club level at Royal Pacific. I'm thinking it might be nice to have the continental breakfast and the lounge to venture into with my daughter (she's 5), since she and I are early risers and hubby sometimes likes to sleep a little longer. Plus, we can just go to the park and he can catch up later. Anyone have any thoughts on club level experiences they care to share?

Thanks.

No opinions one way or the other? Lots of views, no replies :(. I'll take good & bad for staying on-site v. off-site with a 5 year old in February. Thanks!

We have never stayed Club at RPR, but always stay at RPR for our vacation. as with only 3 of us,and as we are not really breakfast eaters so the extra would not be worth it for us, plus to benefit from the beer and wine and the deserts in the evenings would tie us down to staying at the hotel most nights, and we prefer to be out and about if we are not at the pool.
I know a lot love it, if you do a search i am sure you will find a lot of people who have good reviews about it.

Everyone I know who has stayed on the Club level has really loved it. I remember reading somewhere that they kept the placed well stocked pretty much all day, they just change the things offered at different times. Since you and your daughter are early risers and your husband isn't, this sounds like an ideal set-up for you.

How many nights will you be there?

We stayed there this summer and, IMO, it was worth every penny! The staff was superior and we loved the offerings! We are the type to spend a lot of down time at the hotel though, so it's definitely worth it for us.

There were 5 of us, so we had a little more value for our dollar, however, I would still do it for three if the price was right :).

i have stayed at HRH on club level quite a few times.
i have only stayed at RPH once in a pool view room though.

all the clubs are similar.
you can take bottled water or soda with you as you leave the hotel for the parks. snacks are generally out in the club level all day.

you have a morning buffet of choice of breakfast items, afternoon snacks, a sweet hour around late evening time and a dinner hour items from about 5ish to 7.

beer and wine is available in the evening.

in the club rooms are tvs, dvds, computers, reading area besides couches and chairs to just hang out in.

i have used club for the breakfast and water/soda.
on a few occasions i did do the evening offerings and dessert time.

to me it was only worth the cost when i took my sons with me to HRH.
it cut down on our soda bills at the park.
the breakfast offerings held them over until a late lunch.

when i went solo, it was not worth the extra money for the club perks for beverages and food snacks.

since you are traveling with a child and a husband that doesn't get up for the break of dawn, it might be good for you to stay at club.

you can get items to take to the room for him for when he arises.
or he can go to the lounge by himself.

you and your daughter can have a head start with breakfast and hit the parks.

who knows, you two might be back in the room for a break when hubby is just waking up.

by doing the club, you don't have to separate for basic coffee and food in the morning. no one has to go to the resturant for coffee or a quick snack.
that makes it very convenient for the family.

if you went to pastamore's walk up window in CW for a quick take out breakfast, it would be about $5 a person. you would have to be dressed and ready for the day. by using the club lounge for food/drink, you can take it back to your room and watch tv while you all get ready.

for me, if there is only a $50 difference to upgrade to club, i do it.
anything over that is not worth it for me when i go solo.

i really like the convenience of being able to grab a coke, bottle of water or coffee anytime during the day.
especially when i first wake up in the morning.

We are staying 6 nights....it might end up 5 depending on the flights I can get. I am definately leaning toward going for it.

Thank you so much for all the info. I really think I am going to work on husband over the holidays and convince him this is the way to go. He can never 100% vacation either so his blackberry and laptop will be in tow and this way, we'll all be in a location convenient for playing OR working...whatever we choose :)
