Question about closing parts of a certain park

Friends of ours were at DW the week of Feb 9. One night they went to a certain park and were told they would have to leave bc the park was closed. Now I am sure if it was just certain parts or the whole park. I think certain parts. They were going to watch the fireworks. But it did start to rain so they were fine with leaving. But when they asked why, the cast member said I know as much as you do. Why do you think they would have closed certain parts of the park?

The other day, part of the roof of The Little Mermaid attraction in Magic Kingdom caught on fire due to an errant firework. Maybe Disney World staff are just being extra cautious. FYI, large tracts of Disneyland's Fantasyland close for their nightly fireworks because some are launched from attraction rooftops (or very close). I hope this necessary evil isn't making it's way to Magic Kingdom...

Without knowing exactly what you are talking about, it's hard to say - what park are you alluding to? What do you mean "Now I am sure if it was just" - was it the whole park or just a section of it? Were they already in the park, or just trying to enter?
