Question about Cindy's cancellations?

I have been trying for weeks now to get a PS for CRT for our party of 5 for 7/27-8/3. Today when I called I was told the best time to try for a cancellation is at 7 am. The CM said that is when all the previous days cancellations appear. Is this true? I have heard of people on these boards coordinating cancellations during the day to help a fellow DIS'er get a PS. How can that be done if a cancellation doesn't post until the next day? I'm confused!

I can't comment on what their official policy is, but last week I was very pleased when I coordinated things with Mulanmom who was cancelling a PS for CRT in Aug. I inititiated a 3 way call to 407-WDW-DINE, and picked up Mulanmom's PS just after she released them.
The CM told me that he could not gaurentee that I would be able to pick it up because it does have to go back into the system, but to finally answer your question, I booked a cancelled CRT PS at about 9:45 in the evening.

On another note, I am really surprised how many people comment that they are able to secure a PS for CRT the night before. As some have mentioned, there is a fee for not showing or cancelling your PS, so people tend to cancel instead of just not showing up. I know it's not as comfortable if it's not certain, but book the PS Breakfast in Norway, and cross your fingers for CRT.
