I have never eaten at Carnation Cafe (shocker, I know!!) and I would like to make a PS for breakfast. Does Chef Oscar work every day? Or only certain days? If I go, I would really like to meet him!

Thanks!!

Last couple times we were there he was working weekdays and off on the weekends. HTH!

I spoke with Oscar last Fall and he told me that he would be retiring. I have been to the Carnation Cafe at least 3 times since then and he has not been there. However, he did tell me that he was asked to come back on a part-time schedule to meet guests. So, he said he wanted to take some time and take a vacation, then he would return part-time.

We went to CC in May and again last week and both times Oscar was seating people at their tables and then walking around asking how they liked their food, etc. We also saw him at rope drop standing with 2 other CMs on Main Street directing people to the Minnie and friends breakfast.

OK I'm apparently out of the loop here......what's so special about Chef Oscar? Is he just really nice or is there something else about him that makes him so "special"? Thanks!

Thanks for the replies! I will have to cross my fingers and hope he is there next month!!! I was planning on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday.

What's so special about Oscar?? He is just one of the nicest, sweetest most geniunely warm guy you have ever met. And, by the way he has worked at DLR since the beginning.:tink:

Don't worry, I didn't know who he was either until I started seeing people mention him here on the boards awhile back. Now when I see him I'm like "Oooh! There's Oscar!".

When we were there a couple weeks ago he was there. It was either Wed. or Thursday. He is sooooo nice. I'm so bummed we didn't do a photo. Thought of it, but didn't do it. I didn't know he was there from the beginning. That's way way cool. Now I'm even more bummed I didn't do a photo!!!! :( so sad!!!!!!
