Question about checking in...

I think I know the answer to this, but wanted to confirm...

We are renting points from someone at BCV for the first time. Our plan was to drive down, and stay at an offsite hotel the night before we check in. This will allow us to gain a half day or so, compared to when we stopped in GA and had a 4-5 hour drive on check in day. So, we were hoping to be able to get up early, go check in, and then head to the parks. We understand our room probably won't be ready until later in the day.

If we do not have our tix and DDP plan ahead of time, is the check-in desk open early for us to get there, check in, pay for our tix and DDP, and get them tied onto a room key? Or, if the room is not ready, will they not provide a key? I guess I am wondering if we can/should buy our tix before we go down, so that we can go right to the parks in the morning. If we do that, will it mess up the DDP? Or is that totally separate?

How should we handle this?

Thanks,
Andy

As far as park tickets, you can buy them at check-in, but you can also buy them anywhere you wish and the concierge window can re-encode them onto your room keys.

Assuming the owner you ar renting from has added the dDP to your reservation (it can not be added at check-in), you will be issued room keys, encoded with the DDP credits, when you check-in. If your room isn't ready, you will still get your keys and DDP and can head to a park. From the parks, call the WDW operator from any WDW phone (I usually stop at guest services) and if your room is ready they will give you the room number and you can go directly to your room.

Thank you for the information. So it sounds like we are still okay to buy the tix at check in then, and have them put on the keys with the DDP all at once. The DVC owner did have the DDP on the reservation, so we should be all set there. I was hoping it would work this way, for the sake of simplicity. Thanks again!
