Question about charging to room

If we want the ability to charge things to the room, does everyone in the room have to be using the same credit card, or can each person use their own card?

Or, if only one card can be registered initially, can we split up the bill at checkout and have each person's total chanrged to their own card, rather than having it automatically charged to the card we registered at check-in?

I've heard of split cards but not of individual purchases but I could be completely wrong since each card is actually an individuals card.... But it may be easier to just use your own CC in the shops???

you can have different credit cards attached to different room keys, BUT it must be taken care of at check-in. If you wait until check-out there is a strong risk the charges will have already been sent to the card issuer.
