Hi,
We have a trip coming up in about a month. We are booked thru a travel agent at BLT for 8 nights at the beginning of April. Some of our party may not be joining us and we are considering possibly doing a split stay as we've always wanted to try the Polynesian or Boardwalk. My questions are 1) is it possible to modify at this late stage? Are there any extra charges that would be added for changing our reservation and 2) will it affect the fast passes I have made since it would essentially become a split stay?

Thanks for any advice you can give me!

Yes, if there is availability, you can modify your reservation. It is not automatic that you can simply take nights off of an existing reservation. Those new dates must be in inventory in order to modify or, the TA can attempt to get guest services involved to do the modification, but it's not guaranteed. If it's a package stay and you are within 30 days of check-in, you may be charged a $50 change fee. Keep in mind, if you do a split, you will be making a completely separate reservation for the Poly or Boardwalk stay so be prepared to put down another deposit or pay in full if it's a package within the 30 day mark.

We've already paid for the trip in its entirety so that was my other question. If the resort change we were making were to make the cost go down would they refund us the amount or issue it as a credit? Obviously if the amount went up I understand we would owe that but just wondering how it works on the reverse end. I don't want to end up spending money to change this as the first reservation was quite expensive but it's now an option for us to possibly do this and I would like to as long as we don't incur much in the way of extra cost. $50 is doable but anything beyond that I will probably leave it as is.

Thanks for your input!

Yes, you would be refunded or issued a credit for the price difference minus the $50 change fee if you are within 30 days with packages. Is this a room-only or package? If it's room-only, there is no change fee at all.

We changed our reservation for last night about a week ago to a room $140 less. Room only reservation. They did not issue a refund. They issued a room credit
