I hoping to do free dining if it is offered again in December to Disney Visa holders. I want to do it Dec 18-27. Thing is, my sister would be with me and my DD8 and DD3 from Dec 18-24 and my husband would be there with us from Dec 24-27. So... because I would be switching who is sharing my room ...

1. Would my husband simply not get free dining.
2. Would I have to make a separate reservation for his portion. (two reservations 18-24, then 24-27.
If #2, then my girls and I would lose our free dining after even though we have been there consecutively.
3. Do you think there's a miracle that Disney would continue the same reservation and he could tag on the rest of our free dining instead of my sister?
4. Should I just tell my husband he can't come because he's ruining my plan, LOL.:lmao:

:confused3

Would you have 2 rooms or 1? Is someone leaving during that time period?

It would be one room. My sister staying until the 24th, then she would go back home and my husband is driving down to arrive that same evening. He's not too into the parks. He hates crowds. Usually I don't allow him to come at all because he is a real downer. Doesn't get the magic at all. But... since it's Christmas he wants to come so that the girls don't have to rush back from Disney.

How can anyone not love Disney?

I have a similar situation. I spoke to a CM yesterday and explained it. There is no way to accommodate. So what I had to do is pay for everyone for the whole reservation even though they won't be there the whole time. This means that you pay the extra 3rd person in the room charge for the whole reservation. And the dining has to be all or nothing - everyone in the reservation has to be on with dining for the whole length of the reservation.

um, i'm not sure you're going to have a problem... if you are only going if free dining is offered, you'll likely not be going... sorry to share the bad news, but even in our current economy and with disney making offers too good to refuse, it is HIGHLY UNLIKELY that free dining will be offered over CHRISTMAS! it is historically the busiest time of year, with disney needing to offer NO incentives to get people to travel... so, if it's free dining you are hoping for, you may be disappointed!

now, there is something you could do... if your dh is not into the parks and doesn't need a ticket, you could simply put your sister on your ressie for the entire time and have dh use her dining credits after she leaves... since they won't overlap, it should not be an issue...

if he wants to go to a park, buy him a park ticket elsewhere (undercovertourist.com for example) so he can visit the parks w/you...

Um, you clearly must not know that free dining was indeed offered last Christmas then, right? I would know because I took advantage of the promotion for our trip Dec. 17-26. It was offered to Disney Visa cardholders and also to select people via pin numbers for check ins Dec. 14-20. As long as you checked in by that date, you got free dining your whole trip. So, yes, we did have free dining over Christmas. :santa:

Couldn't you do two reservations, ending one for the check out date of the 24th with your sister and the second one starts the 24th with your husband, if you did this do you think the resort would let you stay in the same room and just check out and check in on paper only? Just a thought I don't know if its do able or not..Anyone ever do this

pardon me for not knowing... i sit corrected... yes it was offered to select guests... not general public... so disregard that portion of my post and do as you will w/the rest...

Trouble is ... based on last year's dates at least (if they offer free dining at all this year), I would barely have eked in on free dining in the first place. The second reservation wouldn't qualify. Maybe I can make him stay off-site and just meet him in the parks, hahahaha.:lmao: It'd be more roomy and he could still visit.

Tell you what, there is a lot to keep track of in terms of information that I never even knew existed. Man, I paid nearly full price for the past several years (less AAA discount) that I probably didn't even have to. It is so great to have so many knowledgeable people to help out.
