We are staying at SSR for part of our trip and French Quarter for part of our trip (November 6-10). If there was any DVC availability at this time could I use the points I used for French Quarter? I have not used points at a Disney resort before and I know that they are "reservation" points, but I was just wondering if I could change at this point if there was availability.

No, you can't. Once points are converted to Reservation Points, they are only good for non-DVC destinations. They cannot be reverted back to a status where they are valid at the DVC resorts.

Tkraz is right. Remember that when you use points for the Disney collection, you are actually doing a trade out, so the points you traded, become the property of the Disney system, and not part of DVC anymore.

That's right about the points but I do have some good news for you. My husband and I just got back from a 3 night stay at POR French Quarter and we absolutely LOVED it. Nice rooms, beautiful grounds, great restaurant. So even though you can't change your stay, at least you will enjoy the resort!

Glad you liked it. When we stayed there in March, we were underwhelmed. Thought the rooms were microscopic, as were the beds and bathrooms.

Thank you for the responses. We have not stayed at French Quarter so it will be fun! I should know better than to try to wait until a couple of months to make reservations! I will be making reservations in December for next year so we can stay at our home resort, WLV!
