Question about celebrating birthday in Disney?

Can I still tell them that we are celebrating ds's birthday even though we won't be there during his actual birthday?

We were originally going to WDW from 6/21-28 and ds's 3rd birthday falls on the 25th. However, couple days ago, dh's boss asked a favor - if we could change our vacation to either later or earlier because there is this cruise that his wife and him would like to take and it is a once a year cruise organized by I think his church..

So, now we are going 6/7-14...so of course, ds's birthday isn't until the 25th.I am really not expecting any special treatments but thought it would be nice for them to sing him Happy Birthday at one of the character dining. Can I still ask for a Birthday button?

You sure can, from what I hear people do it all the time. this next December we will be there over my DDs birthday, but plan on letting her wear her button everyday. Afterall, it is her birthday trip.

I didn't know we could do that!! We will be celebrating DD 6th birthday and planned on getting her birthday button on her birthday, but if we can have it the whole trip, that would be great!!!
