Question about Cash vs. Points

We may be bringing down a large group next time around and I think there is one person who would rather get their own studio (in which case I wouldn't use points, they would pay for themselves as they are non-members).

Two questions:

Do they get full mousekeeping when paying cash as a regular hotel guest or do they get the same as a DVC member using points?

I thought there was a discount for DVC members paying cash. Is that correct? Does that impact the first question at all?

There is a 25% discount for DVC members who book rooms on cash (last I heard) -- I think you need to book through MS though even though you are paying cash -- not through CRO.

As far as if you pay cash vs. pts. goes and mousekeeping --

if you pay cash for your stay, you do get daily mousekeeping

to get the DVC discount, you most likely will have to book the ressie in your name for the person and if you are staying on cash not pts -- I don't think DVC perks are included. ie. pool hopping, merchandise discounts, etc.

If they are paying cash through Disney, booking direct, they get housekeeping.

There are discount cash rates for DVC members, but there are some restrictions, I'm not sure if you ( the member) have to be in that particular unit, but you do have to be in the resort for the full duration of the booking. I'm not 100% sure if the discount effects housekeeping or not.

If you book through DVC and get the 25% member discount, you get the limited DVC housekeeping (trash & towel day 4, etc). If you book through CRO, you get daily housekeeping. This is because the 25% member discount rooms come from points inventory. The CRO rooms come from non-points inventory. The member must occupy the 25% member discount room.

The member must be staying in the room to get the discount, at least technically.
