Question about car reservation time

I have never flown into MCO before. It's always been Tampa airport. My question is, my pick up time for our alamo rental is at 10:30 am and our plane lands at 9:50. I've always had plenty of time at Tampa from landing to picking up luggage and heading to the pick up the rental. I'm definitely worried at mco we aren't going to have enough time picking up the luggage and getting the rental then end up having our rental cancelled. I tried to modify the time but seeing I used the $35 off coupon that now gives the error that I need to make the reservation start date before March 1 2016.
 
At MCO you just walk across the street to the cars (no shuttle involved). Will you have checked in online ahead of time so you can go straight to the car? Your times sound fine to me. Planes arrive late all the time, we have never had an issue with our rental cars cancelled.
 
Yes, I'm doing online check in with alamo. I was just worried with how long it would take to get our luggage seeing mco seems to be a lot more busy than Tampa. Tyvm!
 
I really wouldn't worry about those times, they are very realistic. You'll be fine.
I never give a pickup time longer than about 20-30 minutes after our scheduled arrival time and have never had an issue.
Best bet is to add your flight info to your reservation that way if there are any flight delays you will be covered. Usually this is done when making the reservation but can be added by calling in.
Sometimes those lines at the counter can get long (20-60 minutes wait), pretty sure they wouldn't cancel your reservation because you were an hour late (standing in the line)

In case of a major delay, flight reschedule, missed connection etc where you're going to be several hours late, I'd definitely call the 800 number to let them know.
 

Don't worry about the rental being cancelled. With National and Alamo (those are who we rent with exclusively) we've been early, we've been late; doesn't matter.
 
When I was looking last year I initially booked with a company that had a short window of pick up (I believe it may have said 1 hour from your reservation time?). I got a bit nervous, honestly I was super nervous about the entire renting process because it was my first time doing it and I was the only adult with my two children. I ended up changing to a less expensive reservation which ended up being with Dollar and their window I believe was 6 hours? I am looking now to see if I can find the Alamo window...This is the information in regards to flight delays but I do think it is still relevant in terms of your concern. You will be fine!

What do I do if my flight has been delayed?

Airport Rental Locations in the US and Canada:

  • Vehicles will be held until the end of the business day on the scheduled pickup date or for 12 hours, whichever comes first, for any delayed flights.
  • If you are arriving after closing the pickup date and time should be changed to the next day.
