Question about car rentals, car seats, FL car seat laws

Can you ever order a car rental that provides car seats, or do you have to bring your own car seat? How big of a hassle is it to take car seats flying? What is the law for car seats in FL?

We were all set to drive 27 hours, but Allegiant Air just had a big price drop today and I'm trying to convince DH to fly.

Hello! It is never recommended to rent a car seat because you don't know how the seats have been treated or if they were ever in even a minor fender bender or if they will even have the correct seats for your kids needs. We fly with my sons seat each and every time and he uses it on the plane because you do not know how it is being treated once it leaves your sight. I would suggest bringing your own and using it on the plane. Boosters can be carried on and placed under the seat or in the above bin.

I've flown with car seats many times. Airlines will check car seats for free if they are not needed on the plane. Also, renting car seats is expensive.
