My friend's son has to cancel a disney trip due to a new job...he is about 40 days away, can he get any of his trip money back (he has the dining plan, and 7 night accommodation). Thanks

hi he has no trip insurance purchased...is there a time frame involved?

If he didn't get trip insurance, he will get everything back minus $200. With that said, I think Disney started charging an additional $15 fee for any changes made 14 days or less prior to arrival (I forgot to mention that in my other post). So if he cancels more than 14 days of arrival, he will only be charged $200; if he cancels 14 days or less from arrival, he will be charged $215. HTH :).

He should call ASAP and cancel, he may get his deposit back. We tried to do two trips in 2009 and ended up cancelling the 2nd one (Oct) a few days inside of the 45-day window. We received our deposit back. Not saying he WILL get it back, just saying he COULD get some leeway if he is just a few days inside of the 45-day window.

Can he reschedule? If he reschedules his trip he will be charged nothing if the new trip is the same or more than the original trip and only $50 if the rescheduled trip is less.

If he has to cancel, he should do it ASAP. They will most likely keep his $200 deposit if he is inside of 45 days.
