Question about camcorders

I am wondering if there is any place in the world where you are unable to use camcorders. Obviously, I'm assuming they don't want you video taping the shows, etc., but I wonder if you can have them in say Chef Mickey's for the character dinner, etc.

TIA!

I used mine at Chef Mickey's. Of course I shut it off just as DD1 decides to go running into Mickey's arms!

Other than the shows I don't think there is anywhere.

You can use them on the rides? I want to video everymoment for them as they will never be back there that I know of. :(

I remember last year taping at Chef Mickeys, during rides like It's A Small World, I don't think you're not allowed to video tape, it's probably more of a common sense thing like you won't want to tape during roller coasters or wild rides where you could possibly drop the camera and hurt someone. I did tape during at least 1 show which was the Lion King show at Animal Kingdom. My daughter was up on stage with the characters and several of the characters kept coming over to us and interacting with my kids. No way was I going to not get that on tape. There were employees all around us and no one ever said anything about the camera, I'm sure others had them too. I actually don't recall not being allowed to video tape anywhere.

Oh yeah! Any ride within reason...like I wouldn't do Splash or Space Mountain!

I think movies are forbidden, like Mickey's Philharmagic, or big-name shows, like Dan Zanes or The Wiggles during Magical Beginnings. They specifically said "no Video" but people were anyway.

Awesome - good to know. I'd hate to be videotaping and get the dreaded scolding from a CM in front of everyone - I'm easily embarassed! :sad2:

I've taped quite a few things at WDW. In general, if they don't want you videotaping, they will usually have signs posted and will almost always tell you verbally before the ride/show.

Generally, they won't let you film shows or rides with a movie screen like PhilharMagic and Star Tours. Other shows like Festival of the Lion King or Flights of Wonder, they don't care.

Oddly enough, I've never seen or heard them say you can't film on any of the roller coasters other than to say to secure all loose items. I've seen countless people with camcorders on Expedition Everest, Rock 'n Roller Coaster and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.

The only major thrill ride I've heard them say not to film is Twilight Zone: Tower of Terror but I filmed it twice before hearing them say this. I haven't filmed it since but always listen for it and they only seem to say it half the time on this ride.

Another note is that for courtesy of others, they do ask for you to turn off any external video lighting.
