Question about Cake flavors

Hi,

I am just wondering if anyone has tried the almond cake flavor? We are thinking about choosing that with the amaretto filling but are unsure of the taste. If anyone has tried either I would really like to know what you thought of it. Thanks.

Hi Jmarie...We tasted the almond cake flavor at our planning session. My DF LOVED it! I liked it but I didn't really LOVE it b/c when it comes to cake I am pretty much a vanilla/chocolate person. However, it was good and it wasn't a very strong flavor. Our EM said the almond was a very popular cake choice among brides and guests. We are having four tiers and we chose the almond as one of them with the bavarian cream filling mixed with fresh strawberries. The bavarian cream filling was very light...almost like a whipped cream so we thought adding in the fresh strawberries would be a nice touch. Since the almond cake is flavored, we figured going with a lighter filling would balance the two out. The amaretto filling was good. All of the fillings were but the amaretto wasn't my favorite but still good. We got to try 8 fillings and had to narrow it down to 4. I hope this helps! Let me know if you have other Q's!

I really liked the almond w/ ameretto, but we chose almond and baileys, my mom hates ameretto, that is one of my favs-
our cake = Top choc cake w/ milk choc mousse (for me)
Middle almond cake w/ baileys mousse
Marble cake w/ milk choc filling
Mad Hatter Cake 2 teirs
Marble w/ baileys
yellow w/ choc mousse
My fav was the choc cake w/ milk choc mousse, but I am a total choc freak, like choc choc chip ice cream!!!

We tried the almond and amaretto as well. Eventhough we did not choose it (We are big chocolate people!) it was really good. Good Luck deciding and HTH!

Thanks for the help everybody, we decided to go with that flavor.

To answer Octoberbeauty's question, yes you get a choice between 4 cake flavors and 6 different fillings. The frosting is a standard buttercream. Hope that helps.

For our original wedding, my DH wanted chocolate cake with peanut butter icing. We couldn't get the peanut butter icing to look white, so we ended up just going with a basic white icing.

For our vow renewal, keeping his choice in mind, I asked our coordinator if we could get peanut butter filling. She emailed me back and said YES. We had chocolate cake with peanut butter filling with the regular icing. It was absolutely awesome!!!

So, if there is something you want, just ask. We did not have any additional charge for the different cake filling.

Oh no! Don't tell my dh2b that. He loves chocolate and peanut butter!!!! But, I'd have to veto that. lol
