I was just reading on the Disney site that there are private cabanas at the pool at the Grand Californian Hotel....Has anyone seen these cabanas? Any photos?

The last time we went to the pool was in August 2009 and I am sure that I did not see any cabanas. :confused3 Is this something new?

Thanks.

They are new since the Villas opened.

I googled "grand californian cabana" and got some links, and if you click to see Images, the first 5 or so pictures are nice.

Thanks so much, bumbershoot! They sound interesting especially with a tv and fridge. I wonder how much they will cost??? Interesting....

We were there Sunday, the pools were VERY crowded. Thank you to a nice couple that saved 3 lounge chairs next to them and then came to get us. The cabanas were all reserved and being used. They put a sign out front saying "Reserved for the ***** family"

Pricing
$110 for 4 hours
930 - 130pm or 2 -6 pm

$185 for 8 1/2 hours
930 - 6pm

Includes the cabana with 2 couches, a safe, flat screen tv, frig and 4 lounge chairs in front. It also includes bottled water and a fruit tray. Plus a cabana attendant.

pricey, yes BUT on July 4th or on any other holiday weekend, just might be worth the money if you are having a large family gathering. Better than leaving one croc by each lounge and hoping the lounge is free when you decide to come to the pool.

Thanks so much!!! I agree with you that on a very busy day, it can be well worth the cost.

We usually meet our family at DLR and many of them are older and I try to make the visit as pleasant for them as I can.... So, on a hot afternoon, I can just imagine them enjoying watching all the kids and cousins swimming from the comfort of a cabana. Much better. :)

Yes, much better. There were several family groups with older members in the pool area, not swimming but enjoying the family. One family was scrunched under one umbrella and another was camped out on the ledges.
