Question about buses from Beach Club

Hiyas! I've read this forum for months but just now registered.

DH and I are going down to Disney next week for vacation. His parents and his (adult but autistic) sister will be joining us. Looking forward to the magic, but have a question about the transportation system.

We're staying at the BC this time and I'm wondering how the buses are for getting to the MK. Would it be better to walk to Epcot, get on a monorail and ride to TTC and then transfer to MK? SIL gets antsy/frustrated if she's made to wait for buses (lines for rides she's fine with, but the bus thing goes back to her school days) and I'd hate to upset her.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

It's a loooong walk to the monorail station in Epcot from BC. And you would have to use your ticket to get in, so if you didn't have hopping abilities on your passes it wouldn't work.
But, the wait for buses isn't all that bad. Usually about 20 minutes between buses. They can get crowded first thing in the morning though. You could try it and see how it goes...if it doesn't work out, perhaps you could get a cab to the TTC where you could use either the ferry to MK or the monorail line..you have to be on a bus to get inside MK in order to be dropped off.
Hope all works out for the whole family and your sil has a good time. And welcome to the DIS boards!!

have you considered renting a car? you wouldn't need it for mgm/epcot, but might be nice to have for mk/ak if she does mind waiting for busses.

Thanks for all the advice!
We will be driving so we will have a car and we do have park hopping abilities on our passes. I think we will give the bus a try and see how it goes. I plan on bringing an iPod filled with some of SIL's favorite music to help keep her entertained so...maybe that will help alleviate the frustration she has with buses.

I don't recommend driving the the MK. You will need to park at the TTC, which is where all the off-site guests park. Depending on how far back you park you may need then to take the tram which will drop you off at the boat or monorail over to the MK. Far more of a hassle and far more crowds than just waiting for a MK bus (which will drop you close to the MK entrance).
As long as you avoid park openings and closings you will not have any problems with crowds at the bus stops. After the initial surge at park opening. the resort bus stops are all very peaceful the rest of the day.
At park closing just walk around, shop, eat, whatever for aroung 15-20 minutes while the crowds surge out the exits. When you get to the bus area everything will be quiet again.
Don't try to get out of any park right at closing. Too hectic whether you are using Disney transportation or driving.
