Question about buffets...

Does anyone know if you go to Germany's Biergarten restaurant if they allow you to order ala carte?
We are going with another couple that love it there but we don't. Would love to just sit with them while they eat ...have a drink and something small if they allow it. Any info would be appreciated!

You'll be charged for the buffet whether you eat or not.

There is no other menu. It's the buffet only. And they will charge you since you'll be taking a spot away from waiting guests and they can't check you at all times to see if you eat the buffet or not.

- You could book lunch that costs less.
- They do have some basics on kids section, baked chicken, salad and I think desserts are awesome.
- If I really didn't like the food I would just book somewhere I like at same time and reconnect after.

As the others have said, everyone at the table is charged full price no matter how much or how little they eat.

It's a buffet... so you pay for the buffet.

If you sit with your friends you will be charged the full price regardless of how much or how little you eat so this sounds like a case where it would be better for you to dine elsewhere and meet up with your friends afterwards. Also, Biergarten has entertainment and communal seating (most tables seat 8) so sometimes it is difficult to have a conversation.
