Question about bringing wine on-board/to dinner.....

First Disney Cruise is approaching quickly - December 2nd 3-night....looking to get into the Holiday spirit....just wanted to thank everyone on these boards for posting such great information.

I do have a question about bringing wine on-board.....we will be bringing both sets of grandparents on our cruise to spend some time with their grandkids......one set of grandparents drink a specific white wine, another a specific red wine. I have read on these boards that you can bring wine on-board the ship....just make sure you carry it on and do not put it in the checked luggage. Is there a limit to how many bottles you can bring on-board (looking to bring 6). Also - Is it a big deal bringing 2 bottles of wine to dinner each night (table of 8)? I don't want to cause a problem with the wait staff...however, I know the grandparents are stuck in their ways and would love it if I showed up at dinner with their favorite bottles of wine.......do I just carry the bottles in and place them on the table....or is there something special I need to do? Any information would be much appreciated.....Thank You!

I don't know if there is a limit of how much you can carry on.

If you wish to bring a bottle of wine to dinner, that is definitely allowed, however, they will charge you a $15 corkage fee. I think all you need to do is give it to the assistant server.

You may be surprised to find out they charge you 17..25 per bottle of wine if you bring your own. 15.00 corkage fee and 15% gratuity fee Some of the servers will not do this and some will, it will all depend on them.. Call Disney or your travel agent and see if you can get that brand on your cruise.. They do have 2 wine packages available...Good luck in your quest..

Another option is to order a corkscrew and wine glasses from room service. Open the wine yourself and carry your own wine glasses to dinner. The only cost of this is the tip for room service.

This is a bit of a hassle, especially if you want a second glass.

Can one bring beer on board as well, or just wine? Is so, I assume it has to be in a carry-on...

I don't dring & my dh just wants to have a glass of wine &/or a beer here & there.

Yes ... you can also bring your own beer. You can also bring hard liquor (rum for rum punches!!!!), but its a lot cheaper to buy it on one of the islands.
