I'm sure ya'll will have a great time. Just be sure to get something in writing from the parents giving you authority to make medical decisions, etc, should the need arise. I know it isn't pleasant to think about and the chance of it even being an issue is so small, but better to have it and not need it than to not have it and, heaven forbid, something happen.

thanks minigirl...i never even thought of anything like that. should i ask for a copy of their insurance card?

Yes, take a copy of the insurance card. Also, have the note authorizing medical care notarized if possible.

I think it would be wise to have a meeting with both girls and all the paresnts to go voer ground rules, expectations, etc. Cover what the girls can and can't do together and alone, how much spending money they can have and who provides it, consequences for rules breaking, etc. Hopefully you will not NEED to deal with any problems at all but making sure everyone is on the same page from the get go will go a long way towards insuring that is the case.

I did this one year., I took a couple of daycare kids. Insurance card. Medical Contact person. Make sure you know of any Allergies child may have. Have paper stating you or your husband could sign for emergency medical care, and have permission to have her seen by a doctor. Have name and phone number of her doctor and clinic #. Also have it state the parents will be responsible for any bills that occur. Have it Notarized. I had a meeting with the parents and the girls were told what they could and could not do. They gave me their Visa cards and pin numbers, so they had access to cash. Neither of them had a limit and they only spent about 150.00. Also include Dental information. I found a form on line. It was for some college school trip, I just changed some of the words. Just Google Emergency Medical Consent Forms. Have a great trip.

Hi there, we are about to take friends on our trip also, except that we are going to DL....my oldest dd will turn 18 on the trip and is gradding in june, so she is bringing 2 of her best friends, who are twins :rotfl:...anyways, should be very interesting as we will have FIVE teenagers with us :scared1:...(4 girls and 1 boy-my poor, poor son)...We have told the parents we need a notarized note to get over the border(we live in canada) and they need to buy the girls health insurance....we have been going over and over and over what they will be allowed to do but mostly what they will NOT be allowed to do :woohoo:...looking forward to hearing what else we need to know or do!!!
