does anyone know the dimensions that are allowed in the park?

also and this might be a silly question, but , if you fly how dp you bring the cooler down? do you pack it in the luggage, or carry it on?

Coolers larger than 24" long x 15" wide x 18" high are not allowed in the parks. :)

**Updated** See far below

Depending upon what (or how much) food-related items you want to bring into the parks, they make these soft-sided cooler bags. They are insulated to keep ice and food and drinks cool, which I am guessing would be easier than lugging around a cooler. And I would think that someone (by now) has made a cooler-type bag into an actual backpack...if not...this is my official patent pending. I just read something on this board about how you cannot bring coolers with wheels into the parks, so unless you can wheel your cooler around in / on a stroller, you may want to look into the aforementioned cooler backpack. Good luck.

Dang...another million dollar idea eluded me....see link

At the four major parks (AK, DHS, EC, MK) coolers are restricted to "small, soft-sided, which can fit in a locker".

The only restrictions that apply to all parks (theme and water) are nothing in glass containers and no alcoholic beverages.

Some things people don't think about (which tend to be in glass) are pickles, salsa, Mayonaisse, Starbucks drinks, Snapple drinks, Tabasco.

At the water parks any type or size cooler is acceptable. I have seen people come through the gate (Typhoon Lagoon) hauling wheeled coolers about 4' x 3' x 2½'. Note that the cooler can be on two wheels or carried, but the way the rules are written you can not have it in a wagon and it cannot have four wheels.

If you show up at the gate with prohibited items we will give you three choices:
(1) Take prohibited items back to your car or resort.
(2) Put prohibited items in the nearby trash can.
(3) (Only for other than alcoholic beverages at Typhoon Lagoon) We can give you some 16oz paper cups (or if you have plastic bags) you can dump the items out of the glass containers and throw away the container.

ok then im good. mine is about 12inches long, 7inches wide and 11 inches tall.
but now how do i get this to disney world?
it has the hard plastic shell inside that i can remove, i will remove it for the parks. other than that its soft sided.

Not sure on the sizes, pps have answered that I think, but we always bring a small cooler with us because I have had a baby with me the last several trips and need to bring in stuff for him or her. Anyway we brought it on the plan as a carryon and had snacks in it. It is pretty small, but it is large enough that bottles of water can lay down across the bottom and we can probably fit a six pack or so in there if we had no baby stuff with us! Hope that helps ya!

ETA - ours has the hard plastic lining inside like yours and it was fine to bring in the parks! HTH

ive also read this. but that leaves alot to the imagination. what is small? and how big are the lockers?
mine is not small like the type that a kid brings to school for lunch, but its not huge.

Take out the hard plastic shell before you leave home and then fold the cooler up in your suitcase. Leave the shell at home. Or, use the cooler as your carry on bag.

Unless your soft sided cooler is really sealed well, it doesn't hurt to take large zipper bags for the ice. Otherwise, the coolers can leak.

oh, good idea. i will already have ziplock bags from the clothes we bring down( im creeped out by air line personel touching my things so i pack out fits perday in bags).
without the hard shell it does fold some what.
thanks!

I bought a cooler backpack on ebay before our trip. The bottom half was a cooler-plenty big for at least 8 water bottles, and the top was a compartment for snacks etc. that didn't require being cold.
