Question about "Bounce Back" tickets

I am trying to figure out the best tickets for us..and we were pretty set on just getting single day passes at the gate....mainly because we were thinking that we would only spend 3 days at Disney, then move on to Sea World, etc. So today I am at the Disney store and I see the Park Hopper tickets again..and it got me wondering...is there any significant savings to getting these? I have heard that there is this pass you can get at the gate called a "bounce back"...but its not one that they will tell you about until you have said NO to the PArk Hopper. Could someone explain this and what the Bounce Back ticket is? There are 4 of us..so we were going to get tickets each day for the different parks...and this came out to less money because it knocked off that extra day that we weren't going to use. Are the Bounce Back tickets cheaper and better? How do I make sure that is what I get offered? Or is the Park Hopper better regardless?
Any advice about this would be appreciated!!!

I hope you will consider getting a Park Hopper. You will save $$ and it has the advantage that you can visit more than one park every day. The unused days on the pass NEVER expire. Let's say you buy the 5 day Hoppers (you can get them discounted at the Disney Store or AAA plus there are legitimate websites that sell the Hoppers at a discounted price): you use 3 days, visit the parks the way you want to (we always like to visit more than 1 park a day). You have 2 days left which you paid for in 2004 dollars. When you make another trip to FL, whether next year or in 20 years, you've got 2 days at the Disney parks!!

The Bounce Back, I believe, is a 2nd day admission at a slightly discounted price. We did it once when we visited for a weekend, but have found the Hoppers to be the best deal.

The benefit of a Hopper is that if the MK gets too crowded, you can "hop" to another park. Or you can dinner in Epcot each night. It gives you so much more flexibility.

I think what you are referring to is when you buy your ticket for the following day the same day. So if you're at the magic kingdom & you buy that day's ticket and then buy the next day's ticket for Epcot at the same time (or at least before the MK closes for the day) you get $5 off the next day. I believe that these have to be puchased at the gate.

2 Day/2 Park OR 3 Day/3 Park ticket - These are the tickets that were originally known as "bounce back" tickets when they first came out. You can only purchase the 2 day and 3 day passes at a WDW theme park ticket window, any Guest Relations location, any Guest Services location or at any Disney Resort front desk. You can not purchase them over the phone, at a Disney store, at any Disney off property ticket source, or online. These tickets allow entry to only ONE PARK per day. They do not need to be used at the same park both days. You cannot park hop with these tickets but you can leave and return to the same park the same day. Be sure to get a hand stamp before leaving.

2 Day/2 Park ticket - Adults $111.30 (includes tax) child, $87.86 (includes tax) expires 4 days from *purchase*. (3/04) You save $5 off the price of two single day tickets.

3 Day/3 Park ticket - Adults $164.28 (includes tax) Child, $129.13 (includes tax) expires 6 days from *purchase*. (3/04) You save $10 off the price of three single day tickets.

NOTE: Second and Third Day options MUST be bought *at the time of purchase of the first day* OR *before the end of the business day of the date of the first day's purchase* --- NO EXCEPTIONS. If you come back a second day and say you want to upgrade, you cannot. You will be buying a new One Day Ticket at Full Price. There are no discounts on these tickets other than stated above.

You do get a discount if you purchase the next days ticket the day before at the parks. We only planned on going for one day than enjoyed ourselves and decided to stay one more day. We could have kicked ourselves for not getting a park hopper ticket to begin with. I suggest the park hopper tickets.

It is to funny that you asked about this today since I was just reading about this yesterday. I will tell you what the Unofficial Guide says about bounce back tickets

"The 1-day/One-Park Bounce-Back Pass works as follows (we think): if you pruchase a 1-day/one park pass at the regular price, you are eligible to buy a 1-day/one-park bounce-back pass at a discounted rate, as long as yu buy it on the same day you bought the oricinal pass. But wait there's more: If you pruchase a 1-Day/ One-park pass and a second, discounted 1-day/one-park bounce-back pass, you are eligible to buy a third and fourth 1-day/one-park bounce-back pass at an even greater discount. All passes must be bought on the same day."

From what the book says it is not widely known about especially to the CM's that work there and he had to go through five people to get the info. about it. It goes on to say

"If you buy four days of the 1-day/one-park admissions on a given day under the bounce-back arrangement you will spend $55.00 on the first pass, 49.00 on the second and 42.00 for the third and fourth grand total of 188.00- adult, 148.00 for child. This is approximately 33.00 per adult and 29.00 per child less than you would pay for a 4-day park hopper pass. First you give up the right to visit moer than one park in a single day and second, bounce-back passes expire, whereas park hopper passes are good forever. If you buy a 1-day/ one-park pass and then buy a 1-day/ one -park bounce-back pass, the bounce-back pass expires four days form the date of purchase" (the second would expire six days from date of purchase and the third in eight days)

My head was reeling reading it for the first time, but after typing it. I think I get it!!!!! I hope its not to confusing and thanks to the Unofficial Guide for the information!!!! Hope this helps you make your mind up!!!!
