Question about booking outside vendors

Hi all, I am in the pre-booking planning stages of my DFT Vow Renewal. It is tentatively scheduled (in my mind at least) for 12/15/2008. As all of you who are having or have had the WP you know that it cannot be booked until 8 months out. My question is this, did you guys or have you guys started booking other vendors already? I know that the other locations are being booked 12 months in advance, and I am really worried that the vendors I want to use will already be booked by other Disney brides for that date. Particularly Randy Chapman, who is already booked for the afternoon of the date I want, so I thought I could move the times up and do the ceremony at the 10:30 slot, I guess I am just stressing that by the time April comes around the vendors that I want to use won't be available anymore but I cant exactly sign a contract with someone for a specific date and time without having secured it with Disney. Help!! Any advice or suggestion??

Many people book Randy before they even get their confirmation from DFTW! I have read that he can sometimes be flexible about swapping out dates when you finally know them. And surely he would refund your deposit if he just wasn't able to do that date....

I booked Randy before I knew if my wedding date was confirmed. Randy said to write that the date will be confirmed later on the form he asks you to fill out. As Lurkyloo said, if you are unable to get the date you want, Randy will transfer your deposit to another date or refund your money if he is unavailable.

I booked Randy in June and wasn't able to confirm our wedding date until December. I am SO glad I booked him. Last I heard he is nearly booked out for December '08. He is very flexible on the dates, as long as he is available for the second-choice date. I would contact him and ask about the 'moving the ceremony to an earlier time' thing. When I originally spoke to him he said he won't book more than one ceremony a day. He will do smaller things like engagement sessions on the same day, but he likes to dedicate his time to the "Bride of the Day" if you will. Definately give him a call and check.

If you're serious about booking Randy, I'd book him ASAP! I booked him before we had our confirmation from Disney about our date. As the other brides said here, he said that if we're unable to get our date or time he'd gladly move our deposit to another available time slot with him.

We're booked with Disney for 12-12-08 and I already booked Randy and our officiant. Just remember - There's multiple locations and time slots so chances are you could get your date, but there's only one Randy. So I knew he was important to book right away since photography is so important. Good luck!

Does anyone know if you can do this with Misty Miotto? She sent us our contract, but I'm hesitant to sign it, since we can't sign our contract with Disney until April. Gosh, I'm already paranoid with 11 months to go.

Yes Randy is flexible with the dates and he will even give you back your deposit if God forbid the dates weren't flexible..I am not sure about Misty Miotto.
