I am supposed to book a trip in the morning. I need to book online due to my work schedule. I have already banked 2016 points into my 2017 UY. My question is when I book online, will it use those banked points first before using my 2017 points?

Yes, if that is the contract you select to use. If you have one then it's easy. After you book it'll also show you how points were used so you can verify.

Oh no, that leads to another question. I actually have two small HHI contracts of 50 points each. The trip I plan to book is going to cost 50 points exactly. I booked 70, but I have no idea what contracts they came from. Was it 50 from one and 20 from another, or 35/35. I'm sure there is a way to figure this out on the website, but I'm not sure how.

ETA: Ok, I figured it out. There were 29 points banked from one contract and 49 from the other. How on earth do I designate that? I'm starting to think I will have to call. It will have to be later in the day before I'm able to, but it's not a highly-sought after reservation (HHI in November).

Just select both contracts. It will take the banked points first. If, for some strange reason it doesn't, you can call member services at your convenience and have then reallocate the points.

Ok, thanks. I've been playing around with it, and I see where I can choose both contracts. I want them to use the 41 banked points from one contract and 9 banked points from the other. I just didn't know if they would use the 41 banked points, then pull 9 2017 points from that same contract. But if all banked points are used first before current points are used, I should be good. Thanks for the information!

Are your two HHI contracts the same contract number, just add ons? Then you can use as many as you want if they are the same contract. But if they are different, you can only use one contract at a time (and you transfer from one to the other, you have to call MS to book it). If they are different contract numbers (different UY or different owners on the contract), you can't use days from each to book one single night unless you transfer from one to the other.

I've never had to transfer before, so I assume they are the same number. On the website, they have the same number, except one has a .1 and the other has a .2. So I should be good to book online, correct?

^That means your contracts are together under the same member number in the same use year and, as noted above, you will just need to designate for the reservation the two contracts with banked points, in any order, and the system will use for the reservation banked points from both contracts before using any current use year points from either for the reservation.

As others have said just select both contracts and it will use the banked from both first and then take current if needed in the order you have them selected. I have several small contracts and haven't ever had a problem. As long as you select a contract with banked points it will use it first. And, as you discovered I believe, you will see how many points are banked on each contract on the selection screen.
