Question about booking hotel

Just wondering if most of you book your hotels in advance before the codes come out, or do you hold off and book after receiving the codes?
Not sure what to do in regards to a possible late September 2005 trip.

I booked AAA first, and waited for a better offer. Last time, we only booked because Disney "made us an offer we couldn't refuse" -- FTP 7 for the price of 4. So, it depends on what's driving our trip. I used to just pay Disney Club rates, but apparently to the professionals on here, that might as well have been rack.

For the trip I just got back from and the one this coming February I booked my rooms at the rack rate and then had the AP discount applied to the reso.
