Question about booking at "Home Resort"...

If I own say 50 points at BWV and 150 at SSR can I book up to 11 months in advance at BWV on just those 50 points or can I book all 200 points (BWV + SSR) up to 11 months in advance?

The only points that can be used at an 11 month booking window are the ones for that resort. Look at it this way. You own 2 condos in two different cities. If you rent one out in one city, it will be impossible to rent the same one out in another city. NOT a great analogy, bu each resort must be seperate as to point allocations. It wouldn't be fair If I could book 1000 points at resort A if I only owned 10 points there and 900 points elsewhere. That is why chosing your home resort for home resort advantage is so important. It is also why we thought out our add on very carefully. We wanted to be able to utilize home resort advantage every 3 years, so we added on a rather strange number (69).

Thanks for the quick responses. It makes perfect sense. I thought it had to be too good to be true to be able to snag dates 11 months out at BWV using all 200 points when I only truly owned 50 points there. The wife and I are new to DVC and bought into SSR because the Annual Dues were lower and thus "getting our feet wet" in DVC seemed less painful. We'll just have to go and get 150 points at all the resorts so we can stay where we want, when we want.

However, your BWV points can be banked and borrowed independently from your SSR points.
This means you can skip BWV for two years, than use 150 at BWV (with 11 month window) every third year.
