Question about booking and borrowing

I want to make sure this is correct if this is what I end up doing:

I have enough points for a September 2015 trip from my 2015 September U/Y.
If I book a trip for September 2015 or October 2015, can I also use points
from my September 2016 U/Y?

a september or october 2015 trip (dates starting at sept 1) falls in your 2015 UY. you can use banked 2014 UY pts (if any) + current 2015 UY pts + borrowed 2016 UY pts (if needed) to book that reservation.

i'm just trying to show you how to think about it.

1) figure out what UY the dates of your stay fall into

and then

2) you can use that UY's pts plus banked pts from the UY before plus borrow pts from the next UY if you need them.

so (for example) if you were staying on the night of august 31, 2015, that would fall into your 2014 UY, so you could only borrow pts from the 2015 UY for that night.
