Question about booking 7 months out

I already have reservations at my home resort, OKW, for May 31-June 3. I'd LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to stay at BCV for those few days instead of OKW (not because I don't love OKW, but instead just to experience this resort).

My question is....when should I call? Any tips? Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I've always found the people here can be much more helpful and knowledgeable than the folks at DVC.

The first day of your seven month window starts exactly seven months from your checkout date, but you stand a better chance calling day-by-day if you think you're going to have difficulty.

Your first day to call day-by-day, is Wednesday, November 1. You can call that day and get May 31. Then call back each day expanding the ressie by one day. That would be a hassle if you were planning a two week trip, but for three days, it's only a few calls.

When you call the first time, ask the CM how early June looks. They may tell you it's wide open and you don't need to call day-by-day.

Tell the CM that you will be calling day by day to get your whole ressie at the BCV. You will have to decide what to do if you have to waitlist for a day, or even for the whole stay. Decide if you want to waitlist day by day, or waitlist for the entire stay. If you have enough points (without borrowing) to do the BCV while keeping OKW, you can do that so you won't be shut out of a single day by surprise.

Not sure about late May but I just booked a BCV two bedroom for a week starting May 19th and got the confirmation e-mail in less than 4 hours. Our home resort is SSR. Good luck with your reservation!
