Just a quick question; How quickly does BLT MK View book up (studio)?

Want to rent some DVC for it (of course will be browsing the separate board for this) and am trying to figure out how quickly I should have a firm plan in place for dates.

It depends on the time of year but not as quickly as standard but it is faster than lakeview. If you definitely want theme park view you should rent during home resort period and if you want it from Thanksgiving through the marathon you should book it from someone by January or February.

Thank you so much! Not during a HOliday, but during a Marathon Weekend (princess, next year)

Why take a chance, book 11 months prior to arrival.

That is a popular resort for the Princess 1/2 Marathon weekend as it is a monorail resort. I would definitely book as soon as you can after the window opens. We stayed there this past Princess Weekend and were able to get Lake View (no interest in MK view) before the 7month mark. After that availability dropped quickly.

I just stayed there for this past PHM weekend. This is my home resort but I didn't make my reservation right at the 11 month mark. I think I got it maybe in August? But I did have to go on the waiting list, but got my desired room right away (Standard Studio). In the end, I got a room on the MK side and I will say that the fireworks did wake me up the night before the race - not what I was expecting! So fair warning.... But, overall, I was SO glad to be staying at BLT for the race weekend - monorail transportation to/from the race was perfect!

Princess half Marathon weekend happens to be the highest DVC demand time from mid-Jan to mid-Sep (it is much harder to get rooms at near park resorts at 7 months out for that weekend than it is for Easter time, July 4 time, or any other holdiay during that mid-Jan to mid-Sep period). For that weekend there is a high risk that TP view will be gone long before the 7 month reservation window opens and even lake view has a significant risk of being gone before 7 months out. I would advise that if you want that weekend in any studio at any near park resort, you find an owner of the particular resort who can make the reservation using the 11 month reservation window

Okay, thank you very much everyone! Will get on that ASAP :)

Fingers crossed that I don't get any emergency surgery again between now and then. That's why I couldn't go this year :(

We've agreed on this before. We had a two bedroom TPV for PHM. Beautiful view. Was looking forward to it and watching wishes. On of our nights, it was perfect wishes was early, 8 maybe, and the kids saw it just before bed. But man, Saturday night there I was exhausted because I was up at 3:15 am to do the 10k, fretting about the half. Fell asleep around 9:30 after lots if tossing and turning with races nerves. Then, boom, fireworks at 10. I love BLT, think it was perfect for race weekend, but when we return for 2015 GSC I think I will try and talk the family into lake view. Just know what you are getting into.

I stayed in a theme park view BLT grand villa last April and knew about the fireworks, so I was surprised with how much it bothered me race weekend. Not complaining about fireworks before some jumps on me, just saying think hard if your sure whether it will bother you. I thought of it for a split second and dismissed it. Wish I thought harder, maybe even just brought ear plugs.

Yeah, I think you are right. Considering this will be my first, I don't want to worry about the fireworks too much. So possibly standard? I do have ear plugs cause my husband snores lol

Or would the fireworks be disturbing no matter where I stay in the BLT? Perhaps AKV or WLV would be better?
We stayed at AKV last year (for one night) and it was just so amazing with the animals outside my window ^_^

If you choose standard you will need to have someone ready to make your reservations before the 11 month window opens- those rooms book up the fastest and are on the bottom floors of the resort on both sides. If you decide you are worried about fireworks noise than the lakeside of the resort may be better for you, although if your doors are closed and you are wearing earplugs I don't think you will hear them in any room.

My doors were closed and I heard them without earplugs, but I wished I had them because I think they would have been enough. I am a light sleeper so the fireworks easily woke me up with no ear plugs. It was not the end of the world, and I still want to stay at BLT for the race next year. The monorail was just sooo easy for getting to/from the race, and if you have spectators staying with you, the can walk right outside the hotel, cheer you on as run past BLT and into Mk, and then they can hop on the monorail to see you at the finish. Awesome.

Yes, Lake View you get the fireworks noise and the Water parade. That water parade woke me up every night. It sits right outside BLT for about 10-15 minutes playing that music. I swear the higher up you are the loader it is too. Love BLT but if you are a light sleeper just plan on being woken up during the fireworks and the Electric Water Parade.
