Question about Bibbidi Bobbidi.....

My DD is six and this is our first trip to DW. We are going in October. SOOOO excited!!!!
I have an appointment for her at 9:00 in DTD for her full makeover and then lunch reservation at Cindys at 12:00. I want to give her the FULL boutique experience but $200.00 plus for make up and a costume seems quite steep to me. So, my question is this? Do people often bring their own costumes? Is that cheesy? Any other advice?

My daughters been to BBB 4 times and we always take our own costume. I think a lot of people do. I know the times we've been there we've always seen other people bring their own too. It's just cheaper and she already has majority of the princess costumes so there's no since in us rebuying one.

I've taken our own every year. I watch for sales at Disney Store and buy DD's dresses then.

A lot of people bring their own dresses, my family included as DD wants them ALL when she sees them in BBB (or around the park, for that matter). It's much easier ordering one ahead of time and a lot more cost effecient when the Disney Store is having a sale.

The dresses at BBB are a better quality than the ones you buy at the disney store or other retail stores. The dress we got our daughter two years ago is still in perfect condition, along with the one we got her last year. She wears them often and uses them as her Halloween costume. Next year her younger sister will be able to use the Cinderella one for dress up and Halloween. I have not had the same luck with other dresses, they always get rips in them. Being able to use them all the time and hand them down makes the price of the dresses worth every penny.

You make a good point. I was also thinking, what a great keepsake it would make. She would be able to say "I got this dress at Disney when I was a kid"

I still have the Minnie Mouse dress i got from Disney when I was a kid. My DD5 should be able to wear it next year.

Not necessarily true. My girls have dresses from both WDW and the disney store. We have had them since my ODD was a baby she is now 11. So some are pretty old. You wouldn't be able to know which ones we got from where unless I told you. All of her sisters growing up have worn the dresses for halloween.

We did the whole package for my ODDs 4th birthday. We still have the dress. I think the cost has gone up quite a bit cause I don't remember paying that much for it. I want to take the girls next yr when my YDD turns 3. No way will we be able to do the whole package for 5 girls so we will just bring our own dresses.
