The colored text under the avatars is put in by the "Tag Fairy". Rumor has it that there is more than one. It's not really "for" anything in particular, but if you tickle the Tag Fairy's fancy, you may see something appear over there in color. It can be something out of the post that attracted attention, or almost anything else.
