As I still ponder about purchasing into DVC at AKL, I had a question about booking BCV and BWV seven months out. I am limited to summer months, and most likely take my vacation during the last two weeks of August. Can anyone offer their insight on their experiences trying to book BCV and BWV seven months out?

Thank you for your help

I have had no problem at either place. I have done the waitlist it has always come through fro me. ;)

August will probably be fine (or rather, it hasn't been too difficult to date from reports - things could change with more members or an end of August draw), but you are likely to get a Preferred View (not a Boardwalk View or Standard View) at BWV and the 2 Queen 2 Bedrooms at BCV are likely to be booked.

For what it's worth, we own at SSR. We booked at BWV this past summer during the first week of August. I called March 21 and the only choice they had available for a 1-br was a preferred view, which was more points. We did book a preferred view and had an absolutely ball there. I can really see why owners LOVE this resort. We have a 12 and a 5 year old and both loved the pool and the boardwalk itself.

I think if you are trying to get the biggest bang for your buck and want to ensure that you can book standard views, it may be worth your time to purchase there.

Best of luck with your decision!!! :goodvibes

this is the second year in a row we have booked a 1 bdrm at BWV standard view at the 7-month window. both years during february. last year was during presidents week (very busy)

If you would like to stay at BCV or BWV most of the time why not buy there on the secondary market?

Can't speak for BWV but I finally bought at BCV because I could never get in at 7 month window. Sure, I could waitlist but the waitlists didn't come through quick enough and with our location on the left coast, we have difficulties scheduling airfare within a 4 month window as the few flights are fully booked. So we bit the bullet and bought BCV.

I've been able to snag a 1BR BCR at 7 months mark for BCV no problem....

Maybe becasue it's so hot...? But perfect for swimming weather.

Best, GOldi

The "KEY" is booking at that 7 month window !!!

I haven't had any problem at the BWV or even the smallest resort, VWL !!

I am considering two choices. Taking advantage of the current promotion and buying 225 pts at AKV vs purchasing resale at BCW(150pts) and BWL(50-75pts). I am leaning towards AKV, because of the extra 15 yrs, as well as the opportunity to stay in the value rooms for less points. The pool area at AKV looks like it will be nice, but not sure how it will compare to BCW.

We did the same thing because our experience booking (a studio) at the 7 month window was also the same. We always go the last week of August and this last time we were able to get VWL at 7 months but not BCV. Not complaining at all about VWL, however.

Is it worth to buy at BCV beacuse of the pool?

The pool and the location - close to Epcot, to Disney Studios and to fine dining, all within walking distance. DH had fallen in love with AKL and when the Villas were built there, we had to buy there first. The BCV contract we bought at re-sale but paid top dollar...we did not want to gamble with ROFR.

Not IMHO...consider the other pros/cons.

VAK will supposedly have a super "themed" pool like the BCV.
The 1 bdrm units in the "new" bldg will be larger and able to sleep 5 (not 4 like the other DVC's).
VAK contracts expire in 2057...not 2042 like the BCV, BWV, VWL..etc.
Plus..you can't beat the new member incentive of developer pts.;)

I bought DVC at BCV because DH and I are "older", have no young children and we want to be close to Epcot because we spend 90% of our time there. I certainly wouldn't buy for a pool. If it weren't for being at Epcot, I would prefer AKL as the theming is amazing there.

Thanks for the info. We love spending time at the pool and relaxing. It is a great opportunity to take adv of the promotion.
