In looking at DVC resales, some indicate that they have points banked from 2000, all the 2001 points, and 2002 points available when the new use year hits. On some resales this gives you a lot of available points right away.

My question is, once points are banked, how long do you have to use them? Do they expire? When? Can they be carried in the bank for more than a year? What is my name? Is the sky blue? ? ?? ????????

Can you tell my head is spinning? We did the open house last week and will eventually make a purchase. When, where, how many points - so many decisions. Thank goodness there are veterans like you guys around to help. Thanks so much.

You have come to the right place...

Banked points are good for one year after their original expiration date...Example, You get 150 points on Aug 1 2000 you bank all of those points to 2001. ON Aug 1 2001 you now have 300 points (150 from 200, 150 new points from 2001) You can use them up until July 31 2002. 150 of those points will expire at that time and the other 150 (the 2001 points) will expre also- unless you bank them into 2002. You have 6 months to bank all the points, after that time the amount of points you are allowed to bank gets smaller...

Banked points must be used by the end of use year they were banked into. With a June Use Year, points banked from 2000 must be used by May 31, 2002. Points banked from the June, 2001 use year need to be used before May 31, 2003.

Banked points may not be rebanked. DVC is good about helping you use any banked points first for an upcoming reservation and will even reallocate banked points to use for a reservation made before they were banked.

I'll let someone else answer the name and blue sky questions for you!! ;)

Enjoy!
