Question about baby swap...

Her post asks if they can all walk in together (this means the line) and then 2 ride while the other 2 wait at the front of the line for the other two to finish and pass the baby off. She was asking how it works. No, it doesn't work that way, the non-rider must wait outside the line. I don't understand where the confusion is.

This is exactly how I read the OP as well-- whole family enters the line together and then literally swap at the loading area.

I believe this is further backed up by the fact that when another poster said the infant cannot enter the queue the OP said "So Disney doesn't do baby swap". That certainly implies that she thought the infant needed to enter the queue for a swap to take place.

We did it a few times, even on no height limit rides when the babies were sleeping. Basically they wrote out a little paper ticket, which I held on to while my inlaws took the older child on the ride..... But, this may be a loophole!
I think you got lucky! We've been turned down before. DD was scared of Peter Pan when she was younger...it is rather dark! But they wouldn't let us do a swap.

I think you are correct... it's up to the CM at the podium. Having three sleeping babies helped our case. (my twins and my 5 mo old nephew). If they didn't let us do it we would have been fine, since we all had FP, but just my older nephew wouldn't have been able to ride twice. The official Disney website has the rides listed that have an "official" rider swap policy.

so i keep getting varying responses to this. we are taking our daughter who will be 15 months in december. its me, baby, hubby and my parents. so do all 4 adults need a fast pass for the ride? or just 2 of us do in order to get the swap? ive heard its a loophole- and if so would be awesome for epcot for example (since of the tiered rides) but dont want to do anything against the rules......

Your parents get a FP. You and the baby and your parents go to the cm at the beginning of the line. Your parents get the swap paper. After they ride, you and hubby get the swap pass and go in the FP line and your parents take care of baby.

You can get an FP for 2 of you ("group 1"), and the other 2 ("group 2") can ride on the swap ticket through the FP line. Someone from group 1 can even join group 2 and get an additional ride. What some people call a loophole is to me just the way rider swap is designed.
