Question about B2B transfers

Hi there!

We are looking at doing a B2B as follows:

1) 7 night Southern from San Juan
2) 4 night San Juan back to Port Canaveral

The CM I talked to said that the hotels offered by Disney are not yet available/confirmed for 2019. The person gave no indication when that would happen, but I assume that Disney transfers from the airport to the hotel would be available to book at that time.

I would like transfers as follows:
- San Juan airport to hotel
- Hotel to port

And then from Port Canaveral to MCO.

For those with experience in doing a B2B, is the above possible? I assume it will be more pricy than return transfers.

Thanks so much!

You should be able to find information about the current transfers offered in San Juan and Port Canaveral from the DCL website. I guess rates could change for 2019, but I think DCL transfers to/from Port Canaveral have remained the same price ($35) for at least the past 8-9 years. Ground transfers are booked each direction, so I don't think what you want would be any more/less pricey than usual. Usually you can add ground transfers at the time of booking. I'm not sure why you couldn't do that or if you unfortunately found an uninformed phone rep. Transfers can also be added by calling DCL if not added at the time of booking; if you use a TA the TA would need to call.

For the San Juan southern Caribbean itinerary:
Guests Arranging Independent Air Travel
Ground transfers are available on embarkation and debarkation days only, for an additional fee, for those making their own flight arrangements. To add transfers to your cruise package, call (800) 951-3532 at least 3 days prior to vacation commencement date. In order to provide transfer service, your inbound and outbound flight details are required.

Please allow ample time for all your travel connections. We recommend the following flight-time guidelines for most San Juan sailings:
  • Latest arrival time to Luis Munoz Marin International Airport on Embarkation Day: 3:00 PM
For the San Juan to Port Canaveral itinerary:
DCL transfers from PC to MCO cost $35 per person. DCL recommends departures from MCO after 11:30am.

Well your question isn't really Back to Back related, but transfers in San Juan. There are plenty of hotels in the area. In fact a sheraton is right across the street from the dock where the ship comes in for normal visits. Not sure if they use the pan-american pier which is a few miles away. I agree with lanejudy that you should be able to figure out transfers online or by calling another agent. If not, then keep checking back every 2 weeks (unless it is worrying you) still lots of time. But plenty of cabs in the city if you aren't with little ones.

San Juan transfers are easy. Your hotel may have a shuttle, but if not, there are many options. We were there a few months ago and tons of taxis were lined up. I believe they have Uber and other options. I think (someone will correct me if I'm wrong) Disney only offers transfers to the airport. To get to a hotel, you will need to arrange your own transportation. But there are tons of options. We got off late in San Juan in January and there were tons of taxis still waiting. Obviously you would have to get your own ride from the hotel to the airport.

The port in San Juan isn't the one in Old San Juan. That is only for day visits. The port for Disney embarkation/debarkation is probably halfway in between Old San Juan and the airport.

Transfers in PC are will covered in these forums. There are many options with varying price points.

Taxi is much cheaper than Disney transfer...I think around $15 total (2 people) from airport to hotel - we stayed at Marriott in Condado area. Another $15 to ship at PanAmerica pier (not downtown pier). About the same for a taxi to Old San Juan.

The hotels offered by Disney probably aren’t available yet because they’re still rebuilding after the hurricanes. There are several hotels in Condado that got hit really hard and will re-open this summer.

We were there in February and stayed at the Marriott Isla Verde. It was very nice, great beach and pool. We took the Go airport shuttle from our hotel to the pier. It was very simple.

We were there in January and we took taxis from airport to the A/C Marriott Condado and then again from hotel to the Pan American Pier and yet again from the pier to the airport. Very simple. We were 4 adults with a checked bag each and a few carry ons.
