Question about AP Room Discounts

We bought an AP for the first time this year with plans to make 2 trips. I'm looking into a third for this fall, but of course AP discounts aren't out that far yet. Just wondering in the past are the discounts pretty consistent throughout the year? Are there blackout dates in general or resorts they don't offer them for?

I'm leaning towards Pop for mid-November (10th to 15th most likely). I found really awesome flights for those dates, but I'm afraid to commit and then find there are no discounts for that timeframe. I was trying to figure out what season that is as far as resorts and it looks like it's in between the cost of value and regular so my thought was it's not popular enough that discounts would be excluded?

For those who have done AP room discounts in the past any idea what I can expect for that timeframe?

TIA!

I'm hoping tomorrow or Tuesday will bring AP codes for fall since spring codes end tomorrow. Usually they have 2 "seasons" out at a time. I would absolutely expect AP resort rates for early November. It's a great time to go. Getting cooler out. I'm waiting on AP rates for Sept. they have a general code but AP is cheaper. :fingers crossed:

I really hate with the new style of AP you can't log into the passholder section on Disney's site.

I did some more searching and found they don't come out for the fall until the end of August. Although someone mentioned a CM told them end of July. That really stinks if that's the case. It would leave me taking a chance on the airfare as there is no way rates will stay low that long.

Last year on Veteran's Day weekend, it was like pulling teeth to find a Disney resort room. I did get AP discount at AKL on the weekdays on either side of the weekend but paid rack rate at AoA for the weekend itself.

Off the top of my head I remember the Fall discounts being released every week during August. I think it was dining first, then general room discounts, then AP and FL discounts. But I'm not as young as I used to be, so my memory may be faulty;) Mousesavers does keep a history file of when discounts were offered.

However last year when I tracking room rates more closely; Pop, at least one of the All Stars and the Family Suites at AoA (not LM) usually have some rooms at AP discounts. POP was never as discounted as the All Stars. Also POR was discounted a couple of times close to rack rate at LM. However POR seems to be growing in popularity. There were no AP discount rooms at POR a couple of weeks ago but POFQ was available. AK is almost always available with AP discounts.

Mousesavers.com has a listing of the historical dates for various discounts and when they were released.

Last year, the AP discounts for fall (late September through mid-December) didn't come out until the end of August.

The discounts are only available for select resorts and only a select number of rooms, so it's possible that your preferred resort won't be available at the AP rate. They also can "sell out" so you have to call pretty early in the release if you want a specific resort/room type.
