Question about AP rates

I know AP rates are never guarenteed and even if they're offered there's no guarantee you'll get one. My question is are they usually about the same, like a certain percent off rack rate prices, or are they different every time? Just trying to get an idea of the range in price we are possibly looking at for our next trip.

From what I've seen, discounts vary--I'm hoping for really great AP rates for our stay in October!
