Question about AP rates with extra adults...

We visited WDW in May 2004 and stayed at Pop Century.

We are planning on returning in June 2005. I'm also planning on purchasing an AP this time to get the room discount and possibly return around Christmas for another visit.

Since this is my first time purchasing an AP, I'm not that familiar with how the codes work.

We are planning on going to WDW at 4 adults and 1 child. I was looking into a Port Orleans room with the trundle bed.

I'm figuring that the Port Orleans rooms will be discounted to around $79 to $89 for AP holders (hopefully). My question is....do they also discount the amount that you pay for the additional adults?

To explain....if the AP rate comes out an it's $79 per night....that is usually based on 2 adults in 1 room. I think the moderates usually charge $15 extra per adult. Do they discount this $15 per adult.....or would my final price be the $79 discounted rate + $30 for the additional 2 adults?

I was maybe looking for someone who might have past experience with this and what they may have paid in the past.

Thanks.....

We did this in August, and it was the room rate + the extra per night for each extra adult.

When we were there in Ocotber we were not charged the extra fee for adults over 2 in a room. There was three of of us (myself, my mother, and sister) we stayed at AKL and CBR (my sister only joined us for one night at CBR though) and I was not charged at either even though I told them we had an extra adult! Someone must have sprinkled some pixie dust our way! I of course was willing to pay the extra fee, but it never showed up on my charge card!

Thanks for the reply....

Now I just have to wait for the AP rates to come out and figure out the difference between 2 value resort rooms compared to 1 moderate room with 4 adults and 1 child.....it will probably be pretty close.

scoutsmom...hopefully I can get lucky and not have to pay the extra fee....but, I'm not counting on it. I see your countdown is into the hours. Congrats and have fun!

You would probably be better off with the two rooms at the Value resort...that means two bathrooms ::yes:: ...could you imagine 4 adults trying to get ready in one bathroom  ...you could get the rooms adjoining and keep the adjoining door open....JMO. :D

Whatever you decide, have a great trip!!!

cra-z,

I thought about that and that's what we did on our last trip in May 2004. We had 7 adults and 1 child and decided to go with 3 rooms at Pop instead of 2 rooms at a moderate.

We are thinking about going back for a cheap stay around Christmas. We were going to probably stay at one of the All Stars....that's why I'd like to try one of the moderates on this June trip.....just to try something different.

I'll probably just talk to the other 2 adults....my mom and my wife's grandmother....and get them to pony up some extra cash to move up to the Contemporary instead.....lol

Thanks for the advice....and you are totally right....it would be alot easier to stay in 2 value rooms rather than 1 moderate. I guess I just need to wait for the AP rates to come out to see where we stand.

Hope they are good......
