Question about an AP Discount

Hi. According to the DIS Discount Information, there is an annual pass room discount code UXM, that runs through December. But it doesn't say what the percentage is. Does anyone one know what that is? Or is it different depending on which resort? We're planning a 1BR at SSR in August, and we have 20% through AAA. Would the Annual Pass price be better? We're planning a second trip within 12 months, so the pass is worth it for us. Can anyone help?

I don't know where you are seeing the AP discounts but curreintly they only run through the beginning of June. The AP to me is worth it (and we have them) if we are going to use the passes at least 12 or 13 days in total. The room discounts may or may not be worth it. The AP current discount is only a few dollars cheaper than the GP room only discount. There are other advantages to the AP like the Tables in Wonderland food discount card that is availble and gives 20% off at many TS and some CS (in values). There is also free parking with the AP and many other little discounts like 10% at some EPCOT restaurants and 10% off at some DTD stores. Don't forget that AP allows for park hopping when you calculate your savings.

Also, last year in the fall we had an AP rate of 54/night at ASMu, but decided that the FD offer with Disney Visa became more of a bargain even though we had to buy 1 day passes. Those can be used in the future to apply to an AP renewal or any other ticket purchase. YOu have to calculate, calcultate!! The best is the number of days of use in my opinion. Discounts on rooms end up happening most times, but sometimes are close to GP anyway.

I'm not making it up, honestly! ;) On the DIS discounts page. http://www.wdwinfo.com/discounts/discounts-resorts.htm Here is what it says:

Disney World Annual Passholders

January 1- December 31, 2009- Room only

* Annual Passholder Discounts

Buying an Annual Pass can be your ticket to a room discount, but consider this carefully. These passes are not inexpensive.

DISNEY WORLD ROOM ONLY DISCOUNT:

January 1 - December 31, 2009 Code UXM

February 13- April 4 Code JKF

April 19- June 6, 2009 Annual pass with dining offer

Basic dining- code WNQ

Deluxe dining- code WNR

I didn't think you were making it up but the codes only go through the beginning of June. That's how they are on WDW AP section as well. I was just on there to check. I think the top is just a 2009 heading. But even if the room only discounts do go through the year end, in the end the difference between AP discount and GP discount in it of itself doesn't make the AP worth it--it's the number of days you will use the card!!

Thanks, but this is the thing that confuses me:

January 1 - December 31, 2009 Code UXM

We are going for 8 days in August, then for another week in February, so the pass will be used, I wouldn't buy it just for the discount so I just have to decide whether or not to spend $250 twice, or buy an annual pass. If I can get a discount better than AAA, then I'll get the pass.

I see where you're saying it's a heading, but then below that heading is the list of discounts, and the one I reference is the first one on the list. Maybe it was a mistake :confused3 . That's the reason I posted the question - I haven't seen anything about a discount for the whole year anywhere else, but yet it was listed there on the page.

Oh well, no worries, I'll just stick with what I have for now. Thanks for your help.
