Question about AKL Standard Room - Club Level

I reserved a Standard Room - Club Level at AKL for mid-August. Someone told me that the views of the savanna are partially blocked at the Club Level and further said that if the view is important to me, it's better for me to book a Savanna view room and give up the perks of a club level standard room with a view. Never having stayed at AKL, the only reason I would stay there is to be in a room with a decent view of the savanna. I booked the club level because it wasn't that much more than the regular Arusha savanna view room. Can anyone confirm whether I should book a regular room with a view instead of a club level room? Thanks!

All standard club rooms are on the Arusha Savanna with wonderful views, no obstructions. Before DVC was added to Jambo House there were some CL pool rooms but not anymore. Enjoy your stay. I would love to stay CL there again. Maybe the person meant that you can't see the savanna from the CL lounge, which is true, but you have a spectacular view of the lobby.

Lol everything "someone" said was false. You will have a wonderful view with "standard."

The "someone" I spoke with was an agent for a DVC point rental agency, so perhaps she meant the DVC CL rooms have partially blocked views of the savanna? In any case, I booked directly thru Disney since there were no more DVC rooms to rent points for with only a few weeks left prior to arrival. Glad to hear that my room will have a good view. We usually can't do CL, but the standard CL was $30 more than the savanna view room when I booked. For a family of 4, I'd gladly pay $30 more per night for CL.

Are you staying DVC or hotel club level? They are very different.

If you are staying DVC, you should ask on one of those boards. They would have a better answer.

We just got back from staying in a standard room club level at AKL, and our view was spectacular. There was no obstruction at all, and we saw many different types of animals all throughout the day. There were definitely some times of the day where we saw more animals than other, in particular, the late afternoon into evening hours. Our view was breathtaking. Here is a sample, although there are no animals visible in this pic. I just haven't sized the other ones to post here yet.



We absolutely think the extra cost is worth the Club Level at AKL. I can't even tell you how many species of animals we saw. We watched them playing, being fed and eating, running, chasing one another. It was spectacular.

On another note, the actual lounge for CL at AKL is on a different floor and doesn't have a savannah view. We were told all rooms booked as "Club Level" will have a savannah view.

There are five two bedroom lockoffs on the sixth floor of Jambo House that are considered DVC CL villas. Three are savanna view, two are pool view. The savanna view is partially blocked by the roof overhang. At least one is handicap accessible. You cannot request a view here.

These five two bedroom lockoffs usually get booked up at eleven months out by members. The non-DVC concierge rooms now are located on the fourth floor since almost all the old concierge rooms have been converted to DVC villas on the fifth and sixth floor.
