question about akl jambo vs kidani.

If you purchase akl, do you have to select jambo or kidani as your home resort? Or do they both/all just fall under the akl ownership umbrella?

They fall under one but your deed will show the percent interest and the unit number at either Kidani or Jumbo that you purchased.

For all purposes involving use of points and reservations, AKL is one DVC resort. If you are an owner at AKL, whether it is Kidani or Jambo on your deed, you have the 11 month window for both buildings. Moreover, if you stay at Jambo, you have use of all facilities (such as pool) at Kidani and vice versa, with the only thing dividing you being the 1/2 mile trip between the front doors of the buildings.

Yes there is and you can take a bus.

You will have both sides as an 11 month window. You can't go wrong with either side. IMHO. You can request a room any where in the resort.

If you own AKV points, you can book at JH or KV at 11 months out. AKV is AKV, the building doesn't matter.

Is there a walking path between Kidani and Jambo?

There's a shuttle van that takes you door to door (as opposed to the bus loading areas). We stayed at KV and used the van often. It was really convenient, and you can take your stroller with you in the van. The van runs on ~10 minute intervals so you never wait for long. The walking path between the two is nice. It runs along the edge of the parking lot but not in a high traffic area. We saw tons of lizards in the plantings along the path, so my daughter preferred walking over the van.
