I am going to WDW from March 3-10. I bought my tickets for USAirways last week and paid $345.00. I went on the website tonight and found the exact same flight for $248.50. When I called to see about getting a credit, I was told they could not do it, but they managed to give me a $40.00 credit.

Now, I don't fly a lot so I'd appreciate some help. What can I do to get the difference between the two trips?

Hi,
It not only has to be the exact same flight, but, also the exact same fare code. IE: k has to be on sale to receive a credit.
Hope this makes sense.

call consumer affairs. 336-661-0061. what they do is pull up your ressie reprice it and if the seats are available then they give it to you. if the inventory isn't there then they won't. tell consumer affairs that you have a ressie, you went to make a new one and it came up with that fare. when you called the 800 nbr associated with the websight they were rude and said you couldn't get it yet you were able to make the ressie with the new fare. why is it available if you make a new ressie but not on yours? whats the problem? they will more than likely give it to you. (I hope you understood what I just said)

If you bought your ticket over the phone they usually will honor a new lower over the phone price but not Internet prices, and vice versa. A few airlines won't give you any rebate. If you bought through a travel agent, call the travel agent first. Occasionally the travel agent will charge you the "change fee" when doing this but taking the ticket directly to the airline (at the airport) avoids the change fee, therefore if the agent insists on charging you the change fee, stop and tell them you will think about it and then check directly with the airline.

Unless your travel dates are really popular, it is better to wait for a fare sale (usually involving a different class letteror fare code typically V or L) instead of buying at their everyday low price (usually K or Q). Even if the new lower fare is under a different code letter (same economy/coach cabin) you can at least ask for a downgrade saying there were no seats at the lower fare available when you first booked.
