Question about ADR if your Disney confirmation code changes

So...long story short we booked our trip with a local travel agent. They are going to get back to us about whether our room discount pin would be better if we book directly through Disney or if it is better to stick with their group discount. My question is in regards to the DDR I made today. If we change our reservations the agent told me I will have to cancel our current reservations and rebook. Will this have an affect on the ressies I made this morning? I don't want to lose them as I got exactly what I wanted

I've never had a problem with my dining reservations getting cancelled. We have cancelled our room only reservations and rebooked, and nothing happened to our dining reservations.

It seems that confirmation numbers are currently only used to verify for +10 booking eligibility. I've made a few reservations without my confirmation number (online with my Disney Account) with no reference to my confirmation number. When I was booking right at my 180 window and needed to use my +10, it always required my confirmation number.
