Question about adding the dining plan to a package...

Hi! I have a package for POFQ including resort/tickets for Dec. 13th. If I were able to get free dining, would I have to add the dining plan BEFORE free dining comes out or could I wait to see if Free dining comes out and then add free dining to my package?

it is my understanding if FD comes out before you pay the balance due on your package then you can change it with no problem. If it comes out --after it is pif then there is a change fee---or that is what I was told by a cm...as i changed ours to get the discount and ask her if FD came out and I wanted to switch it to FD and she said would be fine but of course would lose the discount as only one promo at a time.. which I understood and she the one who said no change fee if not PIF yet...

Rooms available for free dining are limited. Already having a package doesn't mean you can automatically add free dining. There would have to be an empty room at that resort that has free dining availability.

This is correct as discounts are released to fill rooms, so if a particular resort/room type is at or near capacity, there would be no need for Disney to offer that particular one at a discount. With that said, if you would only add the DDP if it's free, it's probably best to wait and see if free dining does come out and if it's available with your dates/resort.
