Question about adding on 25 points at BLT

My fiance and I recently bought into AKV at 160 points for Dec 2008. I was wondering if we wanted to do a 25 point add-on for BLT do we have to put a down payment again? Can you finance 25 points? Is there a way to add it into our loan payments for AKV? Are there closing costs again? Sorry for all the questions, I'm new to DVC!

You can only get Disney financing for add-ons of 50 points or more. No closing costs on add-ons. Since it's a separate contact, I believe that it will have it's own loan payment.

Yes that is correct. I do not think its a good idea since the economy is bad. We purchaced 175 points for full week in all seasons in a studio at BLT. Sun- thursday 1 bedroom for 3 seasons. Works for us.

My wife and I just bought at BLT and got 200 points. I was wondering if in a future year we want to stay somewhere else or get a better room but even if we bank or borrow we are still a few points short is there a way we can buy the few extra points to get that room? Just a one time thing?

No, the best you can do is borrow from the next year. Or try to get a transfer from another member. Or pay cash for the last night. You can't combine cash and points for a single night.

Only if it is available and it is not always available. So you may have to pay rack rate. If you have an AP, you might be able to get an AP rate through CRO, but that would be a separate reservation and not linked to your points reservation. So you will have to check out and back in AND you may have to move.

No, like I said in the previous post, you cannot combine points and cash for a single night. It's either all points or all cash. If you weren't within your banking deadlines, you would lose the points. But if you were still more than four months out of the end of your use year, you could bank those left over points to the next year.

We just got a mailer saying that they have add-ons of 50 points starting at $5600... We're waiting on our lady to get back in town to call though.
