Ok,

I know that I can add the dining plan without having the passes, but the question is can I have the plan start on my first complete day of vacation. Example, we fly down on a Saturday, but I want to start the dining plan on Sunday. Is this doable? I am thinking about the quick service on since it will be $171.93 a day for all 7 of us to eat. We have spent $160 on 1 sit down meal before. I know that it will be quick service, but still it would save us money.

Just wondering..

Unfortunately, no. The plan must be for the entire length of reservation based on the number of nights.

You do not need to use the credits from your check-in day on the day you arrive. You can carry them over to other days of your trip, they just all need to be used by midnight on the day you check out.

The dining plans must be purchased for each night of your stay for every person staying in your villa. You may use the credits at anytime between check in and midnight of the day you check out. There is no requirement to use some each day. If you choose, you could even use them all on the same day, lol.

From what I understand, you have to get the DP for your entire reservation stay (which would include your Saturday), but you don't have to use any of it on Sat - you can double up another day.

Thank you for all the quick replies. It is what I thought, but I was hoping for the other.

I still think I might try it. My 11 year old eats like a horse and it would help out. The 10 year old certainly would not eat enough to justify it, but her 6 foot 10 inch dad could certainly eat up her leftovers.:)

We have the same issue--we tend to get in very late the first night. BUT...we either use that extra TS to go to a restaurant that needs 2 or we use it as a lunch at the Sci Fi.

You should realize that all your dining credits are received in a lump sum as soon as you check in, and they are active until midnight of the day you check out. There is no requirement that you use a certain number of credits on certain days. You can use as many credits as you want on whatever day you choose in any combination. If you want to have 3 TS meals in one day, you can, as long as you have enough credits in your account to cover the meals. You're just limited as to the number of credits you are allocated (and they're allocated per night of your stay, not per day), not as to when you can spend them.

There are also a few TS restaurants that require two TS credits per person for one meal, that is a way that one can use up extra credits.

Of course on the quick service plan you won't have any TS credits, but you get the idea. It works the same way.
