Hello fellow Disney Lovers!

I just got back from my wonderful trip, but I have a girlfriend who is a Disney novice and she is looking to me for advice. She is going to stay at the WL with her DH and their two kids. They are also paying for her mom and dad to stay in another room. Well, now her niece is "thinking" about coming up to stay...maybe a few nights, maybe the whole stay (they are going for 4 nights.)

When my friend called about adding another adult to her parent's room she was shocked to find out it would be close to $300 for the four nights. So she is wondering if it would work if she DID NOT notify the front desk when (and if ) her niece shows up.

What are your opinions on this? Is there anyway this could backfire...like I guess maybe on an early entry day? I am just trying to think how this could negatively impact her family's trip and I really can't think of any way. I guess if it came down to it, they could always just add her on at the time.

Please share thoughts and opinions. Thank you!

Adding another adult at a Deluxe resort would cost you $25 a day for that person.

You would want to tell them because then they could have a room key and be able to do the early entry at the parks.

Room only for 4 nights should be $111.50 more for a 3rd adult. That is $25 plus tax a night.

It does sound odd--although if the parents have a "package" room that includes park passes, perhaps that is the difference?

Early entry, the possibility of the parents being assigned a king room, those are just two reasons to "declare" the third adult. As the others have said, the amount quoted was probably wrong.

Thanks for the response...I just emailed her this page. I don't know how she came up with such a high price for adding a third adult to a room. I have a feeling she will have no problem with paying $111.

Thanks again! :flower1:

:earseek: We made a change in our reservation because my mom is going with us...We upgrade from ALL SPORTS to POR and the difference was about 300.00 extra but this include the whole DM and Princess Package.... :earboy2:

All guests who are staying in the room should be registered. However, if the neice is unsure of whether she is going or not, I would suggest not adding her to the reservation ahead of time. If she does come along, register here when you arrive.

When we stayed at POR in October our 19 year old son flew down from college to join us for a few days. I checked ahead of time and was told to mention him at check in to get charged and so he could get a room key. When we checked in and I told the cast member, she just said " I am going to give you a key and not charge you for the 3 nights he is there" I thought that was very nice, and of course we just ended up spending that money in the parks! You'd want to have a room key because sometimes they do check for EE.

Wow, Coloradomom, that sure was nice of them!

Thanks again for the replies. I just spoke to her and she is going to add her niece on. She does not understand why she was quoted such a high price, as they do not have packages or anything. There was definitely a miscommunication between herself and the CM she spoke with.

I'd add your neice on at check-in. I've had to do this a number of times and only once was I charged the extra fee. If you add her on beforehand, it will definitely be charged. I always add that extra adult if someone comes for a few days of our stay. If something happened, an accident for example you would surely want that person listed on your reservation. Silly things can happen all the time, a fall, slipping by the pool, I even had a foot broken when someone with a motorized scooter ran over itI'

How about if it is not for a few days, but for the entire stay, would that be a problem?
